Mark Shriver

Professor of Anthropology
Penn State University USA

Professor of Anthropology Dr. Mark D. Shriver (Penn State University) heads projects emphasizing the practical applications of human population genomic research. These projects are primarily focused on admixture mapping, scanning for signatures of natural selection, and the elucidation of the evolutionary-genetic architecture underlying phenotypic variability in both typical-range and clinically relevant traits (e.g., skin pigmentation, hair form, and facial features). A major theme of his work is to apply research findings to improve genetic and genomic predictions of kinship, ancestry, and trait values for basic science, medical, and forensic questions. He has been funded by the NIH, NSF, NIJ, DTRA, DOD, P&G, and Disney Research and has published over 160 research articles (Google Scholar citations >29,500 and h-index 78).
